Refuse & Recycling schedule

Village collections are :

Black bin - every other Thursday

Recycling and compost waste - every Wednesday

Green Bin (garden waste - paid for) - every other Friday

(alternate weeks to black bin)

In all cases, collection is a day late following a

Bank Holiday weekend.

North Devon Council will no longer be posting waste collection calendars to all homes in the district. Instead, if residents would like a copy of their calendars, these are now available to download at Not only can residents print off their own waste collection calendar if they want to, but the page gives information about a household's next waste and recycling collection, as well as any service alerts that may be in place for that area.

Getting a Smart meter fitted

Perhaps you have already been made aware, but by 2020,

the UK Government plans to have all homes and businesses installed with smart meters through their national rollout that is currently in progress. That said, research shows that a large portion of the population are still not aware of this.

As such, in conjunction with the

smart meter authorities nationwide,

we are working to ensure that all

local councils have all the up to date

information available for their citizens,

giving the nation a smoother transition and more informed idea of their options.

We have attached two guides: one to domestic, and one for non-domestic smart meters, handed over to us by the Government.

Domestic -

Non-domestic -

If you are interested in getting solar panels installed, Devon County Council runs a group buying scheme to bring down the cost
