Getting started with blogs for Kings Nympton Online

First step is to ask martin for an account (mpailthorpe@btinternet.com)

You'll then recieve an email from wix.com with the subject "Start collaborating on Kingsnympton". Click the Accept Invite link in the email and follow instructions to setup a username/password for wix.com.

If you do this on your phone you'll be prompted to install the Wix app. you have to use the app to write the blogs, however if you use a laptop or desktop you can do everything from wix.com

Log in to wix.com, unless you already collaborate on other Wix websites the "kingsnympton" dashboard will be automatically selected. Click Blog and then Create New Post

A document editor will load, it functions very much like Google Documents or Microsoft Word, with similar icons and layout options.

There are some more advance features on the left side that are out of scope here as I have no clue if they are needed or how useful they are.

The document auto saves as you go and will show under Drafts in the Blog section of the Wix dashboard. Top right side of the editor is a preview button this can be use to see what your blog will look like once published.

On the left hand side is a Settings option. Click this to set a Featured Imaged, this will be used as the main image for the blog. Click on the 2 circular arrows of the image shown, an image browser will open, from here you can upload a new image, select from images already used elsewhere on the site, search through stock images and use AI to create a new image. Once done click Add to Page.

Also is the Settings menu is a tab to manage categories for a post. Tick the ones that apply to your article.

When you are happy with the blog click Publish. The blog post will be made live on Kingsnymptononline for the whole world to enjoy.

Go back the the Wix dashboard page by clicking "<- Back" in the top left of the page.

Your blog will now show as Published in the Blog section.

Click the ... button to the right of the blog, you'll see options to view and share etc.

You can also edited the blog post from here to make changes, once done click publish to make the changes live. Text changes seem to show straight away but for some reason if you make a change to an image it doesn't appear right away. Leave it for a bit and see what happens.

Rejoice in your new found blogging skills. Fame and fortune await.....but probably not from doing this!
